After graduaing from Madison, a stint in the Army, and a graduate degree from George Washington, I have worked in and around New York for the past 40 years. Along the way I was in Human Resources at a couple of corporations, a retirement and financial consultant at a beneifts consulting firm, and finally for the past 19 years as a financial planner in my own firm. I like what I do, my own business, I teach at Rutgers, and I write. It's all engaging so I intend to continue doing it for as long as I can. |

I retired after 31 years working for Leppin Service a drywall company. I had the job of office manager and woman of all trades in the accounting field. I didn't go on to college, instead got married out of high school. This November will be our 50th wedding anniversary. While I worked in the office my husband worked in the construction field. We also grew ginseng for a number of years. We have 2 wonderful daughters, Wendy 47 and Wanda 44. Also we have 2 granddaughters, Tanya 20 and Shayla 16, and 2 grandsons, Shawn 25 and Ryan 23. These are our biggest blessings. |

Hi All - Here we are only a few months away from the class reunion. It should be fun. I've already been in touch with several people that I haven't heard from in MANY years. My husband Dick and I have lived in Arizona for 13 years and LOVE it. We do lots of golfing (until I broke my wrist in February AT WAUKESHA SOUTH HIGH SCHOOL! while attending my granddaughter's swim meet). We also love to travel - we have visited all 7 Continents and still have a long list of places we want to visit. We have 2 daughters Carrie who lives in Muskego, WI with her husband, Brad, and our 2 WONDERFUL, DARLING, grandkids, Josh & Katie. Peggy, who is single and works way to hard, lives in Vail Colorado. Fortunately, we do see all of them several times a year. I THINK I attached a picture from our recent trip to Antarctica but I'm not too sure. I take tons of pictures but the sending part doesn't always seem to work. Here's hoping - otherwise, see you in September. Suzi |

After high school, I spent a few semesters at UW-Madison, playing cards in the Union and basketball in the old Armory. I guess I didn't realize how important it was to read the books for my classes, but I didn't seem to have the time to anyway, except to glance at them just before finals. Before too long, I was back in Waukesha, working in a foundry for 58 hours a week. Good money, but not something I wanted to make a career of. My friend Don Reimer (Hood) suggested I join him at Carroll College, which worked out great for me. My grades improved a lot, and I was able to be on the cross country and track team, sports I had never participated in in high school. I graduated in 1964 with a combined sociology-psychology degree and, after a couple of short-term jobs, I began working for Waukesha County Social Services, which later became Human Services. There I was a juvenile court social worker for 32.5 years, retiring in April, 2000. It was both a great job and a great place to work. In 1968, Sue Hanson (class of '65) and I were married. We have remained in the Waukesha area, building our home in New Berlin in 1980. We have enjoyed fishing, three different sports cars, our home, yard and pets, driving vacations around the US, and our "honorary grandparent" status to the children of some friends. Since we have both been retired and living the good life, I have continued regular workouts at the YMCA, biking, photography, reading, and piano lessons. Sue initially was teaching me how to do more work around the house, but as I get older, I'm becoming more forgetful about those tasks! I'm looking forward to this reunion. It should be great. |

How do you condense fifty years into a couple of paragraphs? I guess you don't, so here I go. We purchased our first dog in 1965, an Irish Setter, joining the kids and a Siamese cat. I am including this fact as it will influence the rest of my life. Having the dog and two little kids chasing each other around the house created a zoo like atmosphere, so the dog went to obedience classes. From that time forward training and showing dogs has been a major part of my life. Jon joined in the sport and we traveled much of the In 1975 I started my own business in Hartland. The Silver Leash is a pet grooming and retail pet supply store. In the beginning we also did dog training classes. The business became very successful and still is. Its now owned by one of my closest friends. In 1979 Jon and I divorced. We are still good friends both being remarried and living only 90 miles apart here in the south. In 1980 I visited a long time friend in During my time in Wisconsin I worked as a travel agent, and was sailing again this time on When I returned to FL it was to the west coast, Where Don and I finally married with a ceremony on the deck at the marina in 1994. We build a home at the marina the following year. With our own home I decided I wanted another dog to train and show. I purchased breed that is fairly rare here in the states, a Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen (PBGV). I still train and show the breed. Don had been involved in Golden Retrievers for many years, and we acquired a Golden girl. Shortly, we had another PBGV and kept a puppy out of the Golden's second litter. This necessitated a move out of the gated community. Moving to a community next door we stayed in FL until 2005 when Hurricane Charlie blew us to the South Carolina Upstate, where we are now located. The area is very similar to the WI Kettle Moraine with out the horrible winters. I spend my time showing & training dogs, judging dog shows, boating and gardening. We celebrated our third childhood last fall buying a Miata to drive on the mountain roads. All in All life is a ball.

Can't believe its 50 years. Sure don't feel that old. I semi-retired last year, but still work a full time job in a specialty store. Really like the people and of course the money. Looking forward to seeing fellow classmates in Sept. |
